Let’s start with some common tips for decorating your house!
1. Measure Your Room
While buying furniture, do not make impulse decisions rather think about it carefully and then decide. But first things first, measure your room. Yes, measuring is very important because if the room you want to buy furniture for turns out to be smaller or bigger than your entire hard work, money and time will be a waste. So measure your room and analyze the type of furniture suitable for it.
Most people make the mistake of not measuring their rooms and eighty out of hundred regret it deeply later onwards. So for furniture, the most crucial step is to first measure, then decide and finally buy!
2. Color Patterns
Everyone loves colors because of the lively aura it emanates whether its inside the room or outside or in the entire house. However even if you are a color freak, do not make the mistake of randomly throwing colors around without assessing the situation.
You don’t want to add too much colors and you don’t want to add colors which do not match your furniture or your rooms at all.
So, select the colors according to the accessories present in the room and you’ll be just fine.
3. Over Stuffing
This is the most common mistake everyone makes. Stuffing the room with basically anything and everything they can find. Sure, we know you love your stuff, be that decorative or just random, but putting all your stuff in one place makes the room crowded and tacky. Use the stuff which goes in your living room, put a few in your room and the rest you don’t need, throw them out. But do not crowd everything in a single place!
4. Curtains
A room requires curtains to give it a homey feeling. When your windows are bare then it gives a cold, unwelcoming vibe so be sure to get long curtains that fill your windows.
5. Rugs
Many of us make the mistake of buying floating rugs for our living rooms or dining rooms or rooms in general. While floating rugs are very classy, you have to see whether they are perfect your room? Does it make the room look disproportionate? If it does, then avoid buying one or use it on top of a carpet.
6. Plants and Pots
While plants and pots make the house look cool and calm, do not stuff your house with lots of them. Use one or two in your living room to avoid clutter. This goes for the entire house, do not make a jungle inside.
7. Paintings
Hanging paintings on your wall might be something you love. Don’t worry, we love them too but again remember to avoid clutter and those paintings which don’t go with your color schemes!
